Pancake Stepper Motor

Pancake Stepper Motor

A pancake stepper motor is built with a short stack length relative to its frame diameter. The body depth allows installation in assemblies where axial space is limited. Electrical ratings and faceplate dimensions follow the motor’s frame specification.

The rotor and stator structure operate in the same stepped manner as standard hybrid stepper motors, driven by pulse signals from a controller. Because stack length influences magnetic flux path and rotor mass, both holding torque and inertia are defined by the specific winding and mechanical configuration of the model.

Available configurations may include different shaft forms, rear or front mounting patterns, and connector or lead-wire options. Shaft type, pilot diameter, bolt circle, and overall length should be verified against the mating assembly before installation.

Selection should be based on the required holding torque, operating speed range, supply voltage and current, rotor inertia, and permissible radial and axial loads. Torque–speed curves under the intended drive conditions show the motor’s actual performance across its operating range. Installation depth, bolt pattern compatibility, and shaft interface details should be confirmed prior to ordering.

These pancake stepper motors are integrated into compact motion assemblies such as toolheads, positioning stages, light indexing mechanisms, dispensing equipment, and similar systems where overall installation depth is constrained.
