Manual Linear Stage
A manual linear stage is a hand-adjusted mechanism that provides controlled single-axis travel for positioning and alignment. A typical stage includes a base, a moving platform, guideways, and a manual actuator (lead screw or micrometer head). Travel ranges from a few millimeters to 100 mm+ depending on the model, with load capacity and overall height set by the guide structure and stage size.
For selection of manual linear stage, crossed-roller guides are often selected when stiffness under load are priorities; dovetail guides are commonly used where stage height is limited. Pick the adjustment method (micrometer, lead screw, or differential) based on the resolution you need, and check whether a lock screw is required to hold position after setup. Finally, confirm material and finish (e.g., aluminum alloy or stainless steel, surface treatment) to match the environment and handling conditions.
